“Blycolin thinks along with us and anticipates our wishes”
according to Lars van Galen of ’t Lansink.
At the beginning of the previous century, captain of industry G.T. Stork built the Tuindorp district for his employees in Hengelo. A high quality district with a tearoom, which opened in 1916, as the social middle point. As of 1956, Tuindorp Hotel and Restaurant ‘t Lansink is located in the unaltered monumental tearoom. For some time now, patron cuisinier Lars van Galen and his business partner Richard van den Hoeven are managing this hotel/restaurant. With success, because the intimate hotel and the contemporary stylish restaurant are steadily building and expanding their reputation.
In 2012, the restaurant was awarded 14 Gault Millau points and was given a very favorable review in the Dutch restaurant guide Lekker. Blycolin is therefore very proud to be able to make its contribution as linen partner for the restaurant and hotel. To Lars van Galen, a number of factors played a part in selecting Blycolin for his new adventure. “The high quality is one of those factors,” he says, while he strokes the white table linen. “The fabric feels good and has a stylish but modern look. That fits the style we want to present to our customers here perfectly. We deliberately chose to use white instead of color. In this design, white is classic and a little modern at the same time. Moreover, on a neatly set white table, your glassware, cutlery, crockery and your dishes look very nice and fresh.”
Lars van Galen was familiar with Blycolin from the time he worked with another company before he took over ‘t Lansink with his partner. “After the takeover, we had all sorts of old linens and thought thoroughly about how we were going to handle this. Initially, we thought about having runners on the tables, but we quickly reconsidered. What we really wanted for our restaurant was immaculate white linen. What’s great about Blycolin is that they really thought along with us and anticipated our wishes and ideas. They did that when we started here and they still do. This place has only gotten busier. We are fully booked almost every night. That automatically means you need more linen and more service. Blycolin anticipates on this effortlessly, which is one less thing for us to worry about. Moreover, because Blycolin has a very good price/quality ratio. We want the highest quality, but of course the price also matters. After all, every cent you spend, must be recovered. However, we strongly feel that the prices we pay Blycolin and the quality we get for that price are very well-balanced.”
