Blycolin takes over Laundry De Blinde
Blycolin, for almost 50 years partner in linen services for hospitality companies, takes over Laundry De Blinde as of March 25. De Blinde was part of Floronet and is one of the larger laundries in the Netherlands specialized in processing hospitality textile.
Market leader Blycolin purchases all corporate activities of De Blinde
On March 25, Floronet and Blycolin reached an agreement about the purchase of all corporate activities of De Blinde in Heerenveen. With this, Blycolin takes over a company that has built its knowledge and expertise in laundering hospitality textile since 1910. Today, over a 100 employees work there and at least 200,000 kilos of laundry is washed every week.
Strategic takeover
The takeover fits within Blycolin’s strategy to build up a larger share of own laundry capacity. Important company values of De Blinde, such as customer orientation, partnership and innovation, match Blycolin’s core values very well. “With the takeover, Blycolin adds a sixth laundry to its own portfolio of laundry facilities. The takeover will aid us to realize the planned growth of our company and to secure the continuity of service to our customers”, says Marc van Boekholt, Blycolin’s CEO. At the end of 2018, Blycolin took over a laundry in the Hannover area in Germany for the same reasons.
Four generations of expertise secures under a new roof
With the takeover, De Blinde’s expertise, as well as employment for over 100 employees, is secured under a new roof. Blycolin will keep investing in the modernization of De Blinde in the years to come, among which the application of robotics. Potentially, De Blinde has a processing capacity of over 350,000 kilos of laundry each week.
From its headquarters in Bolsward, Floronet will focus completely on health care, a division that is currently strongly expanding. This way, Floronet can create more space to guarantee the quality and scope of its service in the future. The hospitality branch will no longer be part of the company’s core business with the sale of De Blinde.
Blycolin and Floronet will not disclose any financial details regarding this takeover.
